Clinical Data Management
Diseases such as Diabetes, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cystic
Fibrosis, etc. are treated over a long period. Medical care, in
such cases, can be made more effective by recording the clinical
care that is administered to the patient. The cause and effect of
different elements of the care, are studied to determine the best
course for individual patients.
Information, related to the progress of the disease, as well as
other non related health care details are centrally recorded for
analysis. Laboratory test results are also recorded and stored for
individual patients. These details, analyzed over many patients,
give the care giver, a better idea of what will work in which situation.
Some of the diseases require reporting to central national databases.
Data from these systems is extracted for reporting purposes.
