Nitin T. Mehta
Nitin Mehta is an active private investor in Silicon Valley. Through
his Merchant Banking and Investment Company, Mehta & Company,
Inc., and as an entrepreneur, he starts and invests in companies,
nurtures entrepreneurs, and does investment-banking transactions.
He brings a unique blend of talent and over 30 years of experience
to participate actively with founders/entrepreneurs in building
winning companies:
Strong Academic Background:
- BSME degree, summa cum laude from S.D. Tech,
- MBA from the University of Wisconsin, and
- Doctorate in Business Policy from the Harvard Business School.
Deep Management Consulting Experience:
- 5 years with McKinsey & Company; led a number of client engagements
and participated in formulating firm's strategy and operations practice
areas.
Extensive General Management Experience:
- Part owner and SVP Ops of Royal Viking Line, one of the best
cruise lines in the world; Led a staff of 1,300 cruise ship
operations people worldwide; put together a $250 million Management
Buyout bid with his partner after successfully turning the line
around.
- Part owner and COO of Handi-Kup, a nation-wide manufacturer
of foam cups with 80% market share of McDonald’s, which
he successfully turned around with the founding partners and
sold to James River Corporation.
- Majority owner and Chairman & CEO of Pyramid Health Group,
Inc., a fast-growth, private venture-backed company that he
owned with Sprout Group that was in the outsourcing of healthcare
information management in medical records departments of over
700 hospitals and clinics nationwide.
- Substantial owner of QuadraMed (NASDAQ: WQMDC), a company
in healthcare information systems (HIS) segment serving over
3,700 hospitals. He was President of HIM Division with sales
of $125 million and subsequently in charge of M&A for QuadraMed.
Experienced Venture Capitalist:
- Was a General Partner of a $10 billion investment and venture capital
firm, Weiss, Peck & Greer Venture Partners (now LightSpeed).
Investment Banking Experience:
- In leading the sale of all of the above 4 companies, he learned
the art of deal structuring, which in turn has been further honed
through many of his clients and as principal in Mehta & Company,
Inc. Was a co-investment banker to raise equity for Crown Pacific
buyout from KKR, a $500 million transaction. In addition, at QMDC,
he bought several companies and participated in major M&A transactions

Anil Anand
Managing director of the SCAnand Group of Companies
with operations in USA and India, Anil is a technocrat with substantial
experience in general management and start up of new ventures. He
is a Chemical Engineer (1975) from the University of Manchester,
UK and an MBA( 1981 ) from IMI, Geneva, Switzerland. He has founded
and successfully managed organizations in the services, trading
and manufacturing sectors.
Anil is currently the Chairman of the Polymer Machinery
Manufacturing Association and on the committee of the Indian
Chemical Manufacturing Association. These associations
bring him into contact with some of the leading research institutes
in chemicals and Bio Technology equipment manufacturers. His business
interests cover all the Western European countries and extend to
the Far East. In the USA, he is based in San Francisco and has interest
in some of the research and development companies located in the
Silicon Valley.
